I started by asking ChatGPT to help me:
- Choose a color scheme for the exterior of my home
- Pick paint colors for every room inside
- Create shopping lists based on my style and budget

First up—our exterior! I asked ChatGPT to help me choose a modern, welcoming color scheme. It recommended a soft greige (a blend of gray and beige) for the siding, deep bronze for the shutters and trim, and a warm wood tone for the front door. It even suggested adding modern house numbers, statement planters, and a trellis wall to finish the look.

Room-by-Room Decorating with AI
I didn’t stop at the outside. I asked ChatGPT to help me refresh every room in our home, from the living room to the laundry room (yes, even that space got some love!).
Here’s how I did it:
I uploaded an image of the room I wanted to refresh and entered the prompt “Please help me make this room look better. I have a budget of [xyz] and need paint colors and links to suggested products.” ChatGPT will reply with a list of ideas, which you can reply with “yes, I want to see all of these in a mockup image,” or you can ask for changes or specific items from ChatGPT’s suggestions. ChatGPT will create the mockup image for you. If you are not happy with the image, simply as to change it!
