What can I use for a taper candle holder?
You can use many things to make a taper candle holder, including aluminum foil! Watch the video below to see how I used glass tea, light candle holders, from Dollar Tree to make these Taper candle holders.
How do you make a tapered candle stand up?
An old trick to make a tapered candle stand up is to wrap aluminum foil around the bottom. You can also melt a little wax on the bottom of the candle and the candle holder. I’m using battery-operated candles in this tutorial and will be using foil.
How To Make The Dollar Tree DIY Christmas Centerpiece Candlesticks:
Supplies:
- 6 Tea light candle holders
- (1 package of 4) Tea light Candleholders
- Battery Operated Candles
- Aluminum Foil
- Gold Spray Paint
- E6000 Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
- Gather Supplies. Watch the video below for more instructions.
- To create taller candle holders than the others, I attached a short tealight candleholder to the base of 3 stems. Use E6000 glue to attach the stem.
- Glue the top around the edges (you can use a hot glue gun if you are in a hurry but use E6000 first because it will cement the glass together butter than hot glue alone).
- You should have a base that looks likes this. Again, you don’t need to do this step if you want all the stems the same height.
- Take the aluminum foil and fold/crunch it up to fit inside the tea light holder. Using roil is an old-fashioned trick to get taper candles to fit any candle holder!
- Use the taper candle bottom to create the perfect hole for the candle to fit in. You want it to be snug.
- I left the plastic bottom of the taper candle in the foil so it will all stay together.
- Use hot-glue to attach the foil to the candlestick to create one piece.
- Spray paint the entire thing and let dry.
- Arrange the candlesticks on a table, mantel, shelves, and more!
