Gingerbread comes in many forms, but most gingerbread houses are made of actual gingerbread. Learn how to create a faux gingerbread version so you don’t have to worry about it falling apart. What can I use instead of a gingerbread house?

 

 

You can use cardboard or MDF wood to make a gingerbread house. I show how to use wood signs and wood ornaments to make fake gingerbread houses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

How To Make the Faux Gingerbread Christmas Decorations:

 

 

Supplies:

  • Wood House
  • Wood Gingerbread Ornaments
  • Clay Candy Cane Ornaments
  • Drywall Compound
  • Beige Paint
  • White Puff Paint
  • Red Puff Paint
  • White Glitter 

 

Directions:

  2. Use a plastic cup and wood popsicle stick to mix some of the drywall compound and beige paint together.

  4. Spread the mixture onto the wood surface evenly.

  5. Use Christmas ornaments like this clay candy cane to decorate the house. I removed the bow from the candy cane and used it on the gingerbread man and woman.

  6. Use White puff paint to decorate the gingerbread.
