DIY Faux Concrete Table
This outdoor table was headed for the garbage until I got my hands on it. After cleaning the table and giving the tabletop a fresh coat of paint, I removed the legs and used a tall faux concrete planter as a base to give it a modern look. I repurposed the fiberglass tabletop to complete this outdoor furniture makeover. I share how to attach a plastic planter pot to a tabletop in this tutorial. DIY Concrete Table Inspiration
This round outdoor table was headed for the trash until I got my hands on it! I was inspired by my recent Yardzen designs to find a round concrete outdoor table for the space next to our pool in our backyard. The table that Yardzen recommended was $3,000! I loved the idea of a concrete table but a $3,000 table was not in our budget.
I was able to take a fiberglass table that I found on Facebook Marketplace for very little money and transformed it into a similar table that looks high-end.
DIY Faux Concrete Table
These instructions may differ depending on what type of thrifted table you are working with. Our table top is fiberglass but other materials may require a different type of paint or resurfacing.
Supplies:
- Orbit Sander
- Spray Paint
- Power Drill
- Scrap Wood
- Screws
- 30″ Tall Faux Concrete Plastic Planter PotÂ
- Thrifted Table Top (ours is fiberglass)
- Liquid Nails
Directions:
- Clean any debris and food from the surface.
- Use a 100-grit sandpaper pad on an orbit sander to remove any imperfections. I sanded down to bare wood so there were no more scratches, chips, paint, etc.
- Wipe the surface to clear and dust.
- Use spray paint to repaint the fiberglass tabletop. I used white spray paint.
- Remove the old legs but keep the screws.
- Attach a scrap piece of wood to the bottom using the same screws in the same holes on the bottom of the tabletop.
- Attach a piece of scrap wood to the inside of the faux concrete planter pot.
- Apply liquid nails as an extra adhesive.
- Drill the scrap wood pieces together going through the inside of the planter pot.
- Set up your new faux concrete table and enjoy!

Wrap up for DIY Faux Concrete Table
Repurposing an old table to make a DIY Faux Concrete Table can be a fun and cost-effective way to add an industrial and modern touch to your home decor. It allows you to customize the size, shape, and color of the table to fit your personal style and preferences. Additionally, faux concrete is a lightweight and low-maintenance alternative to real concrete, making it easier to move and clean.
