Get ready to have your mind blown with this Dollar Tree hack! I’m so blown away by this hack myself, I still can’t believe my eyes. Dollar Tree has done it again and created a printed shelf liner that can be used as peel and stick wallpaper! I share how I used $1 Dollar Tree shelf liner to transform my home decor! You are going to want to try this Dollar Store Hack Peel and Stick Wallpaper after seeing this transformation!
This peel and stick wallpaper is removable. It sticks to the wall but peels off easily without leaving a residue. I’ve tried Target peel and stick wallpaper and peel and stick wallpaper from Walmart and this Dollar Store shelf liner is just as good as other expensive floral peel and stick wallpaper.

Keep reading to see how we used Dollar Tree Shelf liner as Wallpaper in our Laundry Room and my Son’s Bedroom!
If your local Dollar Tree does not have these shelf liners in stock, then I highly suggest ordering online and doing a FREE store pick up. It takes a bit longer but I think it’s awesome that the Dollar Tree offers a free shipping option if you pick up from the store.
Here are a few other Dollar Tree shelf liner colors and patterns that I used in my home (more pictures coming soon!):
- Antique Birch – this is a dark brown that was only available in-store
- Knotty Pine – I paired this light wood color with the Antique Birch to create a faux wood wall in my son’s bedroom.
- Gray Floral – This is the style that I used for a corner wall in our den.
- Moroccan Blue – I plan to use this color/pattern in my daughter’s bedroom.

How to Use Dollar Store Shelf Liner as Peel and Stick Wallpaper
Supplies:
- Dollar Tree Shelf Liner (I used this color)
- Smoothing Tool
- Scissors
- Razor Blade/Box Cutter
- Weeding Tool (optional)
- A good eye and some patience 😉
Directions:
- Unroll the shelf liner and use a weeding tool to separate the sticky side from the paper. Watch this video to see how to apply the wallpaper to your walls!
- Start with about 2-4 inches of the sticky side exposed and attach to the top inner section of the wall.
- Use a smoothing tool to press the liner onto the wall well and press out any bumps You may need to unstick and stick it again if you have creases.
- Continue unrolling the sticky side against the wall while pressing the liner using the smoothing tool.
- Once you get to the bottom of the roll, you will need to match up the next roll as best as possible. It doesn’t need to be perfect as long as you get the (floral) patterns to match as close as possible.
- Use a razor blade or box cutter to trim the edges along the top and bottom (above the shoe molding).
- Admire your finished wall 🙂

How to pick the right paint colors
Have you ever had trouble picking the right paint colors for your home? Choosing the right paint colors for your home can be overwhelming. There are so many different “whites” and “grays” these days, how can anyone know they are making the right paint color choice?
That’s why I put together the best tips on How to Choose Interior Paint Colors in this post.
Every home is different… the entryway in our first home was much different than the entryway in our second home, and both of those were very different from the entryway in our third home! So I chose a different paint color for each entryway in all three of our homes. Not to mention, from the time that we bought our first home, to the time that we bought our third home, home paint color trends changed drastically. The colors that I used back then were no longer a trendy color and well, I just didn’t like the brown-ish tan that was in our first home, haha.
So if you need help choosing paint colors for the rest of your home, head on over to this post to see my paint-picking tips and what has worked for me in all three of our homes 🙂 My post with how to choose paint colors for your home is one of my most popular posts and readers have benefited from reading it before heading to the store to buy paint that ends up not working out.
I also have some ideas for choosing paint color combinations for bedrooms (with themes!)
Paint Versus Peel & Stick Wallpaper
Peel and stick wallpaper has become very popular recently since not everyone has access to tools to build their own Shiplap walls (thanks Chip and Joanna) or wants to tile an entire wall with subway tile. I love tiling but if I could slap up some wallpaper and call it a day, that would make me, the hubby, and my wallet happy!
You can find peel and stick wallpaper online at Target, Amazon, Home Depot, and more! I’ve linked my favorite peel and stick wallpaper and the ones I’ve used personally below.

Renovating a home can come with a high price tag if you’re not budgeting and deciding which updates bring the best return on investment. After selling our updated first home in just 4 years, we bought an even bigger house that needed a lot of updating. We sold our second home after 4 years while doing the much-needed work to produce a profit by following the same strategies we did in our first home.
