What are Good Bedroom Color Schemes?
My secret tip for choosing bedroom paint colors: look at colors in nature as inspiration.
Colors found in nature will be the most soothing colors for the bedroom. You want to create an environment in your bedroom to encourage rest and relaxation and most of us feel relaxed in nature (at the beach, hiking, in the wilderness, around pretty flowers, etc).
What Colors Make a Room Feel Relaxing?
Choosing paint colors can be overwhelming, that’s why I put together color swatch ideas below with some RELAXING images from nature to create 7 Amazing Bedroom Paint Color Combos. Feel free to pin your favorite color combo or pin this entire post to save for later 🙂
I’ve included 3 master bedrooms (or guest room) paint color ideas, 2 girl’s bedroom paint color ideas, and 2 boys bedroom paint color ideas!
Best Colors for Bedroom Walls
There are so many different paint colors available that it makes it difficult to choose one paint color for the bedroom. That’s why I put together this post with different bedroom color combinations.
Master Bedroom or Guest Bedroom Paint Color Combinations
The master bedroom should be a place for the master of the home to escape to tranquility and peace. These master bedroom paint color schemes were inspired by photos from the beach and the garden, both of which can be therapeutic destinations for most individuals.
These are our master bedroom paint colors. If you are looking for master bedroom decor ideas, try these paint colors in your home. If you love the beach, you will love these bedroom colors.
2. Nature Lover
This soothing green paint color is perfect for any bedroom. Nature lovers will love these colors in the master bedroom (or any room in the house!).
3. Feminine Touch
This feminine pink paint color is perfect for a girl’s bedroom, master bedroom, or guest room. The addition of light pink with neutrals is the perfect way to add a feminine touch to your home without going overboard.
Girl’s Bedroom Color Combinations
Most young females with their own bedroom desire pink or purple painted walls. However, an alternative for girl’s bedroom paint colors other than pink and purple are blues and greens (like the master bedroom color schemes above).
4. Bright & Happy
These are the paint colors in my daughter’s bedroom. If you are looking for fun paint colors for a girl’s bedroom, these are fun to try! Check out my daughter’s pink, purple, and teal bedroom for inspiration and how I transformed the space by just using paint!
5. Pink Fanatic
These pink paint colors are fun for little girls who are obsessed with pink. These were the colors of my daughter’s bedroom when she was 3-5 years old and she loved it. Perfect for pink fanatics, however, adding pops of blue in the room will help tone down the pink 🙂
Boy’s Bedroom Color Combinations
6. Nautical & Sporty
These boy’s bedroom colors are perfect for a boy’s sports themed bedroom, nautical themed bedroom, superhero-themed bedroom, and other boys’ bedroom ideas. Paint these colors in a toddler, tween, or teen boy’s bedroom and easily switch the theme of the room because the colors can go with many themes!
7. Primary Perfect
These are the colors of our son’s bedroom. These paint colors are perfect for a superhero boy themed bedroom or sports themed boys bedroom. Paint the room gray and add the other colors as accent colors.
I hope these bedroom color combinations of photos inspired you and gave you some ideas for your next paint project! The best bedroom colors for sleep are the colors in nature that make you feel the most relaxed.
How to pick the right paint colors
Have you ever had trouble picking the right paint colors for your home? Choosing the right paint colors for your home can be overwhelming. There are so many different “whites” and “grays” these days, how can anyone know they are making the right paint color choice?
That’s why I put together the best tips on How to Choose Interior Paint Colors in this post.
Every home is different… the entryway in our first home was much different than the entryway in our second home, and both of those were very different from the entryway in our third home! So I chose a different paint color for each entryway in all three of our homes. Not to mention, from the time that we bought our first home, to the time that we bought our third home, home paint color trends changed drastically. The colors that I used back then were no longer a trendy color and well, I just didn’t like the brown-ish tan that was in our first home, haha.
So if you need help choosing paint colors for the rest of your home, head on over to this post to see my paint-picking tips and what has worked for me in all three of our homes 🙂 My post with how to choose paint colors for your home is one of my most popular posts and readers have benefited from reading it before heading to the store to buy paint that ends up not working out.
I also have some ideas for choosing paint color combinations for bedrooms (with themes!)
Paint Versus Peel & Stick Wallpaper
Peel and stick wallpaper has become very popular recently since not everyone has access to tools to build their own Shiplap walls (thanks Chip and Joanna) or wants to tile an entire wall with subway tile. I love tiling but if I could slap up some wallpaper and call it a day, that would make me, the hubby, and my wallet happy!
You can find peel and stick wallpaper online at Target, Amazon, Home Depot, and more! I’ve linked my favorite peel and stick wallpaper and the ones I’ve used personally below.
Cheap Home Hacks that’ll Increase Value
Renovating a home can come with a high price tag if you’re not budgeting and deciding which updates bring the best return on investment. After selling our updated first home in just 4 years, we bought an even bigger house that needed a lot of updating. We sold our second home after 4 years while doing the much-needed work to produce a profit by following the same strategies we did in our first home.
