Happy New Year Gold Balloons
The Happy New Year Gold Ballons can be found at Dollar Tree. They are the type of balloons that you blow up with your breath using a little stick that goes inside the balloons (then remove the stick). I used double-sided tape to adhere the balloons to the wall above the bar cart.
I placed all our New Year’s decorations on my favorite DIY bar cart for easy access to New Year’s Eve party essentials.
I made the noisemaker container by using a Dollar Tree glass vase, some noisemakers, and a gold star taped to the front (leftover from the banner).
New Year’s Eve Party Ideas at Home
We celebrate New Year’s Eve at home with our kids. We have the traditional toast at midnight (non-alcoholic, sparkling cider for the kids), use noisemakers, and give each other a “kiss” for the New Year.
I used Dollar Tree supplies to make little chalkboard signs for the midnight Hershey kisses and placed them in a vase. The Hershey Kisses are also available at Dollar Tree!
I found some plastic champagne glasses at Dollar Tree, painted the bottom with chalkboard paint, and added some peel and stick gold bead strips (everything from Dollar Tree!). I wrote some fun New Year’s Eve party sayings on the glasses so we could tell who’s glass was who’s.
The champagne ice bucket is also from Dollar Tree! I could’ve painted it gold but I stuck it inside of another gold star bucket that I had at home to create this fun decor.
Don’t forget to add some twinkle lights to your decorations!
New Year’s Eve Party Photo Backdrop
I love finding things at Dollar Tree and using them for different purposes. This shiny gold photo backdrop is made with wrapping paper! It was seriously so easy to take 2 rolls of Dollar Tree wrapping paper and cut slits in the roll (while still rolled up!), unroll and hang to reveal this glittery gold backdrop!
I used a package of gold stars from Dollar Tree along with some numerical stickers to create a fun banner with the year we were celebrating. I punched some holes in the top of the stars and used twine to create the banner.
New Year’s Eve Party Outside
If you have warm weather, you can take the New Year’s Eve party outside like we did one year! We celebrated New Year’s Eve by the pool with our new NewAir outdoor fridge. This fridge was one of my favorite Christmas gifts because one of my goals this year is to create the perfect outdoor space. The fridge is by the pool filled with drinks for our New Year celebration… If you like chilled wine, this baby Chills to Perfection! Use code SIMPLEMADEPRETTY for 20% off NewAir products!
