DIY Laser Engraved BFF Heart Keychains
Creating your own DIY laser-engraved BFF heart keychains is a great way to show someone you care. The process is relatively easy; all you need is the xTool M1 laser engraver machine and basswood.
First, you’ll want to create a design for your keychain. I purchased a broken heart image from Creative Fabrica, then I personalized the image in the xTool Creative Space.
Finally, use the laser engraver to engrave your design onto the basswood. Once you have the design engraved onto the material, you can attach a small keychain to the top. And voila- you have your own custom BFF heart keychain!
I attached some colorful ribbons to these keychains for Valentine’s Day gifts and they look adorable. I think I’m going to try to make these using acrylic next time!
Laser Cut Wooden Bookmarks Valentine’s Day DIY
Valentine’s Day is coming up and if you’re looking for a unique, handmade gift for your loved one, look no further than laser-cut wooden bookmarks!
Laser-cutting wood is a great way to create intricate designs with precision and accuracy, and wooden bookmarks make lovely gifts for Valentine’s Day. If you’re feeling creative, you can even design your own bookmark with a special message for your special someone.
Here are some tips for creating your own laser-cut wooden bookmark:
- Choose a wood type that best suits the design you have in mind. You can use thin plywood, medium-density fibreboard (MDF), or other materials that can be cut with a laser. This Basswood came in the premium material package available here.
- Use vector graphics software like CANVA to create your design or download a premade SVG file from Creative Fabrica or Design Bundles.
- Upload your design in Creative Space and edit the cut settings.
- Set up the laser cutter and adjust the settings to make sure your design will be accurately cut.
- Run a test cut on a sample piece of material to make sure your settings are correct.
- When you are ready, cut the design into the wood, and you have your beautiful laser-cut wooden bookmarks!
I found these Valentine’s Day Bookmark SVG images on Creative Fabrica and uploaded them into xTool Creative Space.
The images were already sized accordingly and since I set the material to 3mm basswood, the cut setting was ready to go. I placed the basswood in my xTool machine and let it do its thing.
During the first cut, the Happy Valentine’s Day bookmark design was too intricate for the laser but the other bookmarks turned out great.
I decided to paint the designs on these bookmarks for Valentine’s day. I think these wooden bookmarks turned out great and my daughter plans to give them to her friends as gifts.
Laser Cut Wooden Heart DIY Wedding Date Sign Valentine’s Day Gift
If you’re looking to make a special, one-of-a-kind gift, then a laser-cut wooden heart with your wedding date is a perfect choice!
Not only is it a thoughtful and creative way to commemorate your special day, but it’s also easy to make. All you need is a laser cutter and some wood of your choice.
I designed the names and heart shapes in Creative space. I just duplicated the hearts in various sizes. I used the tabs at the bottom to create additional canvases so my project moved quickly.
To create the canvas frame, you’ll need an art canvas, staple gun, and razor blade. I created a reverse canvas for this wall art.
I used the razor blade to cut the art canvas from the back of the frame. Once the canvas was removed, I trimmed the edges to the size of the wood frame.
Then I attached the canvas back on the frame using a staple gun and pulled the corners and sides tight. I placed my canvas with the inside facing out because I wanted the natural color instead of the white background.
After all of the heart images were cut, I placed one of the larger hearts back in the machine and set it to engrave our wedding date.
Then I painted 2 large hearts pink but then decided I wanted them red and I painted the names black. When the paint was dry I used glue to attach the hearts to the canvas and the wooden names to the red hearts.
I attached saw tooth hangers to the back to hang this wall art.
