Oval Table Kitchen Banquette Update
In this tutorial, I share how I updated our DIY Kitchen Banquette storage bench with a hinged top. I updated the banquette with new cushions, paint, a DIY cabinet, and DIY oval table. We love this kitchen banquette and use it for work, school, dining, and more! I personally never liked homes that had built-in benches in the kitchen, but after living with one, we see the true benefits. Our eat-in kitchen is in the center of the house and separates the family room from the office, so you can sit at the table and still see each room and TVs!

How do you build a kitchen banquette seat?
I share how to build a kitchen banquette seat in this tutorial using wood found at your local home improvement stores. You can easily build a banquette bench with storage using Ikea cabinets, however, we wanted a custom look and fit for our kitchen breakfast nook. Building the size and style you want will make your kitchen banquette unique.
After 2 years with our banquette seating, I had to update the cushions since they were badly stained and decided to give the room a quick face-lift.

Oval Table DIY Kitchen Banquette Refresh
I removed the wall shelves, recovered the cushions, painted the bench, and the hubby built an addition to the corner cabinet (which we plan to add doors and drawers!).

The paint color is Benjamin Moore Gray.
My hubby built the cabinet and I painted it to match. I ordered doors from Fast Cabinet Doors and can’t wait to receive them! I ordered a glass shaker door and drawer fronts for the bottom cabinet. It’s going to look so good when it’s complete!
