Make Stamps Using Cricut
DIY foam stamps are the perfect beginner Cricut craft! Cutting foam with Cricut was one of the first Cricut made craft projects I did back in 2015 (I even wrote a blog post about it here!). Did you know that Cricut can cut foam? I’ll show you how easy cutting foam with Cricut Explore is below! Learn How To Make Stamps Using Cricut and supplies from the Dollar Store below!
I show you how to make a stamp and how to make foam stamps using a Cricut machine. If you don’t have a Cricut machine, you can still make your own stamps using craft foam and wooden blocks. Making stamps and cutting foam with Cricut is a great beginner Cricut project if you are new to Cricut.

Craft foam stamps are a fun activity for kids and adults! I used foam sheets from the Dollar Tree (instead of Cricut foam sheets) and wooden blocks found at Hobby Lobby. These craft foam stamps cost less than $1 to make your own stamps using supplies from dollar stores!

Making these Cricut Stamps was easy with my Cricut Explore machine but I’m including instructions in case you don’t have a Cricut machine.
I highly suggest using a Cricut Explore or Silhouette cutting machine to make this project. Just upload the SVG or PNG in the program you use (I use Cricut Design Space), size, cut, and apply!
If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can use Craft Foam and stencils to cut your own images or use Pre-Cut Foam Letters, Numbers, and Shapes, found at craft stores!
My favorite online resource to find SVG files to make Cricut craft projects is DesignBundles.net!

These Craft Foam Stamps were so simple to make and were an easy #5minutecraft that kids can help make them!

How To Make Stamps Using Cricut
Supplies:
- Cricut Explore
- Images (I used various images found in Cricut Design Space that are Free with the Cricut Access Membership)
- Craft Foam Sheets
- Wooden Blocks
- Tacky Glue
Directions:
- Gather supplies. (I show you how to make the stamps using a Cricut Explore Air in the video below).
- Add select images to Cricut Design Space. I chose various images (a unicorn, star, heart, dinosaurs, etc) and size the images according to your wooden blocks. Mine were sizes around 2 inches each.
- Set your machine to cut Foam.
- Use a heavy grip mat and place foam sheets to cut on your cricut machine.
- Cut the images. I used my Cricut Explore Machine with the Deep Cut Blade to cut 6 images in less than 5 minutes!
- Use Tacky glue to attach to wooden blocks and let dry overnight.
- Use the negative portion of the foam sheets (it looks like a stencil) to draw the image on the opposite side of the blocks (to label each stamp with the image).
- You can also cut vinyl instead of drawing but I simply drew the image on the blocks.

- Oracal 651 Permanent Vinyl (find it here or at your local craft store)
- Siser HTV
- Dollar Tree clear contact paper (or shelf liner)
- Various fat-quarter fabrics at Walmart
- Felt sheets at local craft stores

How To Choose a Cricut Machine
I bought my first Cricut machine in 2013… it was called the Cricut mini and was one of the first Cricut machines that didn’t have a keyboard. It was a great machine but as soon as Cricut released the Cricut Explore machine in 2014, I quickly bought it. A year later Cricut released the Cricut Explore Air and I bought that too. Then in 2017, Cricut released the Cricut Maker Machine and of course I bought it too. So you can say I’m pretty experienced with Cricut machines and have in-depth knowledge about using Cricut and various Cricut projects.
