What essential oils are good for a foot soak?
I’m including a list of essential oils below that I have used in my homemade foot soak. My favorite combination is Peppermint and Lavender since lavender promotes a sense of relaxation and peppermint soothes feet after a long day.
There are other essential oils combinations, depending on what you need, I recommend trying the ones below to see which work best for you. My recipe below has been altered from a recipe found at Happy Healthy Oily.
What is the best homemade foot soak?
This homemade foot soak recipe contains 4 ingredients. I use Epsom salt in homemade foot soaks because Epsom salt is famous for rejuvenating tired feet and creates a calming mood.
I use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt in this DIY Foot Soak recipe because it is 100% naturally pure and contains minerals and trace elements with antimicrobial properties.
Baking soda is included in this foot soak recipe to soothe skin, reduce itching, and irritation..
I include Essential Oils in this foot soak DIY because of the natural properties different essential oils provide. Lavender essential oil is great for relaxing, Tea Tree oils can cleanse your feet, Peppermint helps soothe feet… there are more essential oils suggestions below 🙂
What is the best thing to soak your feet in?
I use a $1 plastic dishpan from Dollar Tree for my foot soak!
It’s inexpensive and both my feet fit in the Dollar Tree dishpan. You can wash it out afterward and store all your foot soak supplies in the container. I store my homemade foot soak jar, foot scrub brush, pumice stone, and foot file in my foot soak container.
You can use the Dollar Tree dishpan as your foot soak while watching TV or while crafting (as long as you stay seated).

WHERE TO BUY ESSENTIAL OILS
I only use Young Living essential oils because of the quality and their method of distilling produce the best essential oils available on the market today. In fact, Young Living has a Seed to Seal guarantee that surpasses any other oil company’s guarantee of the quality and purity of their oils. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’d rather pay a little more guaranteed quality oils than paying a little less for cheap oils that may or may not provide the same benefit.
Also, Do Not Buy Young Living Essential Oils from Amazon, eBay or other third-party sites.
The reason I only buy oils directly from Young Living is the same reason I wouldn’t buy a designer handbag from the back of a van on a street corner. It’s probably not the real thing or has been tampered with in some way. You wouldn’t want to apply or ingest an “oil” that someone put something strange in or receive a bottle of “water” instead of oil (trust me, this happens all the time!). Please don’t be the one that gets scammed by buying essential oils anywhere other than Young Living!
Now that that’s out of the way, here are few more facts & benefits that Young Living offers:
- YL offers many membership benefits, including monthly essential oils, rewards programs to earn FREE product
- Young Living is also the only essential oil company that is approved by the FDA with a special line of Vitality oils and products
- YL has 22+ years of experience and is the only oil company that owns its own farms
