Home Office DIY Ikea DesksÂ
If you’re looking to create home office double desks, there are a few options you can consider. One is to purchase two desks separately and place them side by side. This will give you two separate workspaces and plenty of room to spread out. Another option is to purchase a long desk with two sets of drawers. This could create a workspace for two people but could be easily pushed together for collaboration. Finally, you could build two desks yourself as we did in this tutorial. This could be a fun weekend project, and you can customize the desks to fit your space perfectly. Keep reading and watch the video to see this Home Office Double Desks DIY.

DIY Double Desks
We assembled our desks along a long wall in our formal living room (which we use as a home office and craft room. You can tour my craft room here.)
Supplies:
- Ikea Alex Drawer Unit (3)
- Ikea Legs
- Plywood cut to size
- Wood Stain
- Oil-Based Polyurethane
- Screws
- Power drill
Instructions:
- Assemble the Ikea Alex drawer units according to Ikea’s directions.
- Take your measurements to Home Depot and ask them to cut your preferred piece of plywood to fit your desks. Our desks are each 6 feet x 23 inches. This gives my husband and me plenty of room for our workspaces.
- Stain or paint the wood top. I used Golden Oak wood stain and matte oil-based polyurethane on top.
- Attach the wood top to the Alex drawer units.
- That’s it! Enjoy your new double desks!
