Our Cozy Christmas Home Tour 2025
If you’re decorating late, early, or somewhere in between… I hope this brings you inspiration, comfort, and a few ideas you can recreate on a budget. This year, our home took on a full Peppermint Lane + Gingerbread Bakery vibe — warm, nostalgic, whimsical, and totally doable using Amazon finds, Cricut projects, Dollar Tree supplies, and a few of my favorite reusable décor pieces. Below are all the details from our shelves, entryway, porch, cozy lounge, and living room.

The Peppermint Mocha Shelf Display 🍬
This shelf might be my favorite thing in the whole house right now. I created a little “Peppermint Mocha Café” moment, mixing faux sweets, DIY signs, and Dollar Tree fillers:
- Candy Cane Lane sign (printable or DIY with Cricut)
- Red + white garlands
- DIY peppermint jars
- Gingerbread cutout
- Dollar Tree snow blanket for the shelf base
- Gift boxes wrapped with red ribbon
It looks high-end bakery but cost almost nothing thanks to the Dollar Tree fillers and Cricut details. Find the Full Tutorials HERE.
Gingerbread Bakery Shelf (Sweet Shop Theme) 🍪
For the second shelf, I leaned into a warm gingerbread bakery theme:
- “Sweet Shop” sign
- Felt ball garlands
- Faux gingerbread men hanging like a garland
- Mason jars filled with peppermint candies
- DIY faux cupcakes (SO easy with spackle!)
- Mini greenery jars with candy cane ribbons
This whole look is bright, cheerful, and kid-friendly… without looking cluttered. Find the Full Tutorials HERE.
Entryway Makeover + Christmas Decor ✨
I refreshed the entryway with:
- My DIY Santa Mail sign
- A giant holly leaf backdrop (Cricut!)
- The JOLLY garland
- A simple console table styled with greenery + neutrals
It’s the perfect spot to welcome guests and it ties in with the peppermint theme in the next room. Find the Full Tutorials HERE.
Front Porch: Classic Red Christmas Decor 🎁
Outside, I kept things traditional + bold:
- Three giant red stacked faux presents (the Dollar Tree hack is INCREDIBLE!)
- A classic green wreath with red bow
- Poinsettias
- A black lantern with a red candle
- Crisp white walls + brick tile = chef’s kiss
This look is clean, impactful, and so festive at the front door.
DIY High-End Porch Bows (Dollar Tree Table Runner Hack) 🎀
You can make boutique $15–$20 bows for under $3 each using Dollar Tree table runners.
I added these to:
- Wreath
- Picture Frames
- Our trellis
- The tree outside
They instantly elevate everything, and they’re weather-friendly too. Find the Full Tutorials HERE.
Our King of Christmas Tree (4th Year & Still Stunning!) 🎄
We’ve had our King of Christmas tree for 4 years now and it still looks beautiful. This year’s styling:
- Oversized peppermint ribbon cascades
- Red + white bulbs
- Candy-themed ornaments
- Gold accents
- Cozy tree collar box
It ties perfectly into the gingerbread + peppermint theme throughout the home. Get our King of Christmas Tree HERE.
Cozy Christmas Lounge (Gingerbread Gallery Wall) 🏡
This tiny second family room became our Cozy Christmas Lounge, a warm little retreat that connects to my craft room.
Details:
- New cream sofa cover (SO soft, washable, and pet-friendly)
- DIY gingerbread house + gingerbread man canvases
- Peppermint accent pillow
- A mini tree
- Cozy blankets
This room feels magical at night with just the tree and shelf lights on. Get our Sofa Cover HERE.
Gingerbread Village Console (Cardboard DIY!) 🏡
One of the most fun (and budget-friendly) DIYs this year:
A gingerbread village inside our credenza, made entirely from cardboard panels!
We added:
- Simple cut-and-paint gingerbread houses
- LED puck lights behind them
- A layered “hill” effect
- Soft glow lighting through the window cutouts
It looks expensive… but it’s literally cardboard.
Perfect for moms who want seasonal magic without clutter or storage headaches.
Red Bow Trellis Wall 🎀
Outside, the diamond trellis wall turned into a Red Bow backdrop, using:
- Existing Trellis
- Large red bows
- Red ornament balls
All tied together with pipe cleaners (and totally removable!)
This is such a show-stopper and SO easy to recreate. Find the Trellis Wall Full Tutorials HERE.
The Countdown Pillow (Simple Cricut Project) 🎅
I added a countdown pillow with interchangeable numbers — perfect for the kids and such a fun touch for any seating area.
You can use:
- White pillow cover
- Iron-on vinyl numbers
- Felt pockets
Super fast, super cute. Find the Full Tutorials HERE.
🛒 Dollar Tree DIY Highlights
This year’s MVP Dollar Tree projects:
- High-end bows from table runners
- Faux old-fashioned candy shop trio (Cricut labels + Dollar Tree jars)
- Countdown pillow
- Faux cupcake displays
- Gingerbread garlands
All of these look expensive but cost just a few dollars.
