Self-care doesn’t have to mean splurging on a salon every month. I’ve been perfecting a budget-friendly beauty routine for years, and I’m sharing my personal method for fresh, glossy hair without the high price tag.
- My $25 Haircut – I get my hair cut dry so my stylist can see the shape as it will look day-to-day. I ask for soft face-framing layers that work with my natural texture and make styling easier (perfect for busy mornings!). PS – I used to cut my hair myself at home – it’s super easy if you want a plain straight cut and you know your hair type. Just make sure you grab the scissors linked below if you want to try cutting your hair at home.
- At-Home Hair Dye Technique –
- Apply golden blonde lowlights to just a few strands, wrapping in foil. Less is more — you want a soft blend, not zebra stripes! Focus on face-framing pieces for brightness.
- Apply medium golden brown dye to the ends first, then the rest of the hair, saving the roots and part for last.
- Time according to the box instructions — I left mine for about 7 minutes.
- Remove the foils, rinse thoroughly in the shower, shampoo, condition, and blow dry to see your gorgeous results.
This method is quick, easy, and keeps my hair looking fresh and healthy between salon visits — and the savings add up fast!
